Yeah 5+ years is a long time for a game to be in the oven.  I was really excited for The Witness and SpyParty when they were announced years ago.  I completely skipped Witness when it came out earlier this year, and I expect the same will happen with SpyParty.  Same thing has happened with more Kickstarters than I can count at this point *sigh*.

I'd much rather the IQ team get paid to do what they love than to expect them to effectively work two jobs and not get paid for one of them.  That's not right.  That said, I won't say no to another IQ game on a smaller scale if any of you get the itch again to do so on the side :)

The whole situation sucks.  You guys do good work and that hasn't paid off.  I know most start-ups don't last but it's still heartbreaking to see.  I'm still naively hoping that a miracle or something will happen before end of the year.

IQ Chat / Re: The future of Infamous Quests
« on: July 18, 2016, 10:39:53 PM »
I'm still in shock at the news.  A sad sad day for sure :(

It should NEVER be forgotten that in the space of a mere 4 years, Infamous Quests was able to produce and RELEASE TWO high-quality crowdfunded graphic adventure games and is in the process of completing TWO more; other fan re-makers and retired professionals with much, MUCH more crowdfunding money haven't even completed a _single_ game* during the same period.  Despite the lack of economic viability for such games in today's marketplace, NOTHING and NO ONE can ever take this accomplishment away from the IQ team.

Ain't that the truth (and I say that as someone who's still looking forward those other projects).  If I had the cash I totally would offer to bankroll the last two episodes of Order.

Hey Shoptroll!  Yes, I'm still shipping things out; did a bunch this week already, and I'm doing more next week.  Should be a few more weeks, but it should be all out by then! Whew!

Hooray!  Is there a way to find out when I need to start panicking that I haven't received my copy?

(Was very happy to see the digital copy email from backerkit too!)

Yes, one bank IS higher than the other, and you can jump down, but not back.

Yeah, I figured that might be the case.  What's odd is that when you're on the lower side and attempt to cross back the narrator tells you that it might be possible if you stood closer.  Not sure if that's something you can address or not (I remember the gap you had to jump in the QfI mine had some wonky positional issues too).

Finn asks Glenda about potions, and she mentions the restore potion.  You can then ask more about it.

Ah!  I must've missed that or accidentally clicked during the dialogue.

Cut for budget.

Booo!  I knew I should've splurged for a higher backer tier :(

It was supposed to be an easter egg line, randomly said, but ended up being the primary line.

That makes a lot more sense.

I set the animations to run backwards now, and it looks more like they flow out.  It can be a tricky optical illusion with water animations.

Especially when it's an animation without many frames.  It's interesting that goatmeal says it's flowing in the opposite direction I thought!

His original portrait was based on me.  It was an in-joke.

So what you're saying is "wait until the enhanced edition"? ;)

(Out of curiosity how much do these portraits cost?)

Yes, depending on how you do things - this is to prevent any walking dead ends.  If you do some things in a certain order, you MAY have two similar run ins - they vary slightly.

That explains what happened then.  Nice touch and I really liked how you and your team tried to make sure the game had no dead ends.

Oh!  And is this game supposed to have an intentional 80's cartoon feel in some spots?  The theme song and the ending sequence/epilogue all made me feel like a kid again :)
