Banter and Chit-Chat! / Violence in Video Games
« on: November 08, 2014, 07:00:37 PM »
Ok so what are your thoughts on Violence in video games currently.  My feelings are this.  Damn they just keep getting more violent and graphic.  And it bothers me. Don;t get me wrong like like action and violence in games, movies, tv and books.  Every year they get more graphic and with more Profanity.  Hell i remember when Final Fantasy VII came out they bitch about the word "shit".  Now there are games where you can go to Brothels, sell drugs, beat and dismember people all in graphic detail.  I mean why is nudity and sex forbidden in games and yet violence and cursing are allowed?  As a former retail associate I had to Card kids who wanted to buy "Mature" games with that rating.  For a Fucking video game.  And yet i get carded for buying starter fluid for my lawn mower?  One can damage one's brain physically the other may cause psychological damage if played too much.  If that;s true than i can ready for the a straight jacket and padded room at the local Sanitarium. Lol.    ;)    Chadly

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Drugs. What are your thoughts?
« on: November 05, 2014, 12:51:05 PM »
Drugs. What are your thoughts on them?  Should drugs (illegal) be legalized?  I say yes to that question. Tax them and sell them at state stores.  At the very least Marijuana should be as Colorado and Washington have legalized for recreational use. The stores where you can buy up to 27.5 grams at one time.  Taxed and controlled.  However you can't smoke in public and frankly having THC laced chocolate and drinks is a scary proposition when kids like candy.  So unload you thoughts on Drugs here please.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Music
« on: October 21, 2014, 05:40:04 PM »
So music what kind do you listen to and such?  I like pretty much everything.  I like Classic rock, Alternative, Metal, Pop, and country.  I am a huge fan of Billy Joel and have him seen in concert in 89, my first ever concert. It was awesome. Too bad he doesnt make any new music anymore tho.  So many great ballads by the Piano Man himself.   :)   He ends his concerts with Paino Man and this adage: Dont take any shit from anyone.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / What is the Greatest Metallica Album?
« on: October 21, 2014, 05:46:32 AM »
Hey. What is the Greatest Metallica Album ever?  For me its Master of Puppets!  Best Playing, best songs, etc.  I'm a huge fan and havent seen em in concert in 20 years.  I dont like their new stuff tho, that last album Deaths magnet came close to their old stuff of the 80's and early 90's.  They sold out and ruined napster for everyone but that was going to happend anyway..... >:(

Banter and Chit-Chat! / What is your favorite rpg series?
« on: October 18, 2014, 07:14:57 PM »
So what is your favorite rpg series?  Mine is Final fantasy. FF2, ff3, ff7.  FF7 is in my opion the best rpg game ever made bar none, The ones after that just arent as fun at least to me.  After that i'd say the QFG series, and Dragon Warrior series.  For newer series have to say Quest for infamy is the best i have played in about 20 years! :)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Critics, who Needs em?
« on: October 15, 2014, 03:32:56 AM »
Critics and those who tear apart a project, game, movie, or book without givimg reasons why they dislike the afore mentioned are frankly useless.  I am all for constructive critism, but jeez those who bitch just to bitch need to take my Grandmother advice which is: If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.

Anyone who openly complains about bugs, story, graphics etc in a game should try and do the leg work themselves and see how easy it!  I am not a pro coder, but it is not easy. I remember trying to program in Cobal, Fortran, C++, Basic and others.  It is tedious and time consuming to do at all, let alone right.  As time passes it gets easier, but the baby steps to get there only come with time and practice.  Just a rant here I know, but recently on Kickstarter there has been too much bitching about when a game is going to come out.  Try raising 100K or more than have to hire/spend that money knowing that you dont have the Midas Touch to get more money when you run short on funds trying to fill Backer rewards and such.  So in short I am gratefull to all those who put the time, money, effort into making Quest for Infamy and to they (the developers) will always have my support be it money-wise or just "this game is awesome you should try it."

IQ Chat / Where are all developers of Quest for Infamy hiding????
« on: October 07, 2014, 11:10:29 PM »
Hi all.  Hey i am a bit concerned not to see many posts by the developers of QFI as of late.  Are you all on vacation, sick, or just busy with the patch and real life?   No postings from BT, Broomie, Corrigan and others as of late.  Seems like only a select few of us are posting anything lately.  Just concerned thats all.  Quest for Infamy rocks!!!!! :)                                                     Chadly ;)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Can anyone help me with Chrome Web browser?
« on: September 30, 2014, 02:59:37 PM »
Hi everyone.  I am having trouble with Chrome Web browser.  My issue is this, I am running the most current ver for winXp.  I can surf the web by physically typeing addresses fine, however when i go to google search a screen pops up ans says "your connection is not secure the website might steal you data".  No way to get around this, and i have tried Chrome's website for help and emailing them with no luck.  I.E. works somewhat, but since its ver 8 and not supported anymore i constantly get certificate errors.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks,

Quest for Infamy / Quest for Infamy 2
« on: June 11, 2014, 06:41:24 PM »
Ok this might be a little premature as QFI has not been released yet, but is a sequel in the works yet?

Also once upon a time over at I.A. there was work on a Kings Quest game called KIngdom of Sorrow. Are there any plans to complete that game under a new name or integrate it into a new project?   Thanks. Chadly :D

So what are your thoughts on the show Breaking Bad?  I myself have been a Huge fan of the show since its beginning.  The writing and acting are top notch to say the least.  For those who live in a cave or desert somewhere, the show covers the downward spiral of a 50 year old hs chemistry teacher Walter White, who has cancer and decides to make meth to support his family after his death.

The show itself is groundbreaking in several ways.  It has graphic violence, profanity, sexual situations, and other Mature elements.  It's definitely Not for kids or children.

What do you think will happend to Walt?  As this is the final season here are my predictions.

I am rooting for Walt to survive cancer and the law.  I beleive that Jesse will die somehow.  I think Walt will end up killing hank (his DEA brother In law).  However Walt may finally succumb to his cancer or be killed by competitors in the drug trade.  I could go on and on about this show I Love it! :)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / XBox ONE thoughts?
« on: June 10, 2013, 09:07:19 PM »
Just caught the specs for the XBOX One and wondered what are your thoughts on it?  My thoughts are this. Graphically and hardware wise it sounds like a beast.  However why Microshit and Sony refuse to let old games from the 360 and PS3 play on it makes me angry. They are using new tech so why not give the players who have spent thousands of dollars (like me) ability to play their old games on the new system.  Also it seems as tho they are requireing a broadband connection?  Why????  500 bucks is quite a bit of cash to spend at once and I bet the games will be at least 60 bucks a crack...............  Chadly!!!!!!

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Books! Reading is fun!
« on: June 04, 2013, 05:52:53 PM »
I enjoy books and reading very much! :). Actually I would say I enjoy reading more than I enjoy playing PC/video games.  A good author allows one to enter their world in a profound way, by using your imagination!  Reading a great science fiction  or fantasy series a thing of joy!

With that said, What kinds of books and authors does everyone enjoy?  I myself enjoy science fiction/fantasy genre's, thrillers, and horror novels.  For authors I like Tolkien, George rr Martin, Terry Goodkind, Raymond Feist, Robert Jordan,Tom Clancy, and Stephen King.  :)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / A Person's Age.
« on: April 26, 2013, 02:36:10 AM »
Today is my birthday. I am 35 today and it makes me feel old. I guess I have reached middle age. It seems like yesterday like I was 21 or 30.  I still feel likes I am 18 in my heart and always will be.  It just sucks that physically I can't do what I once did.  In closing I will that I feel that a person like whiskey or wine only gets better with age or experience.  It is my hope to encourage my nephews to play old school games of the Sierra type that taught me so much.  How to think, type, and use logic, instead of mindless button pushing kill everything in sight. Although those games are fun to a point.   Chadly

Banter and Chit-Chat! / What is the Worst Sierra game ever?
« on: April 25, 2013, 12:38:33 PM »
What is the worst Sierra game ever made?  For me it is Leisure Suit Larry 2.  It just sucked all around. A close second is Manhunter.  Worst Sierra series is Ecoquest or Willy Bemish.
