It sounds like they're going for a Grim Fandango style of interactivity, where you can only interact with things in close proximity to the player character.  This would certainly be the preferable option, of the two that you mentioned, but I can't help but find it ironically amusing that everyone is lauding the Odd Gentlemen for copying the control style of a game that has always been majorly criticized for its controls.   ::)

And the interface is the only complaint that I have ever heard about Grim Fandango. It certainly was the only one I had.

I can't say anything about the installer since I did not use it, but it does not do anything required. The app is just a QT app. I don't know how good it is, but I was thinking about a friend of mine who composes when I first found it. There is also Anvil Studio, which has a freeware version, if you need a piano roll. http://www.anvilstudio.com/

That has been in Windows for the past few versions.

These Russian spambots have really gotten out of hand. I ended up having to block nearly the entire blocks of Russian IP addresses just to stem the tide.

That is only for the free Win 7 extended support, meaning that no more feature updates. Critical updates will continue till 2020 and the extended support will still be available via paid subscription.

To be fair to Kosh, he mostly goes after stuff I am not interested, like all of the Japanese releases.

I only want one decent boxed copy of each. While I do want all of the variants for adding support for as many different release versions to my installers, but a copy of the media alone is good enough for that. In some cases just an unaltered digital copy will do.

Much of my desire for physical copies has more to do with a desire for preservation than the typical "collectables" lust of many so called collectors that might as well be into collecting plates or something equally silly. It drives up the price for the preservationist and the true fans that just want the games. At least GOG helps with the latter.

Sounds like it may have updated your NIC driver, firewall or something to do with the TCP/IP stack. Did you even try to reboot after the update? In most cases that will get you back online.

As to not running the updates, that is a very bad idea. Many of the updates are to address security holes or stability issues. It is just asking for trouble.

The only way it could have been worse is if they had a first-person shot looking down the point of the arrow as Graham aimed the bow.  ;)

Ahem...

As someone in one of the Sierra Facebook groups said, it is an odd choice as "adventure gamers don't want a platformer, and platformer fans don't give a rats ass about kings quest". I agree. And they already tried to add action to KQ in MoE and we know how well that worked out.

Even the Sierra Facebook Sierra groups have become rife with idiots and rude asses. At least the SHP forums have remained civil, even if it is not as busy as it once was.

Indeed. The attached is a PM I received in response to a thread about King's Quest II where I said it wasn't ground breaking and was the weakest in the series, although I liked it anyway. That was literally my first post on Sierra Gamers FB page in about six months.

I remember that idiot. Then there are the fake accounts like "Goofstain" and all of the other 'stains that troll Sierra Gamers. Not sure why Rudy does not boot them. It is like dealing with a place overrun by teens hiding behind the anonymity of the internet who have learned no social graces.
