How come nobody caught on to my previous post about allyoulike.com ? you can create a free account and download files up to 450 meg free. There is a catch though, free accounts are limited to 100kb speed or less. But hey, start a download and do something else.

Lal was mentioned a number of times in the first episode...

No she wasn't mate lol. There are reviewers and fans all over the net wondering about the zero mention of Lal. All Data daughter references in the first ep are about Dahj and her sister. But if you're sure feel free to chuck me a timestamp and I'll go look to see if you're seeing something we're all missing haha.

Episode 2 of Picard just seen. Glad it explains some of the mysteries & fan complaints about the first episode.

Spoiler (hover to show)

Oh and apparently CBS has posted the first episode of Picard on YouTube for a limited time. So, if people dont have All Access or Amazon and want to check it out, you have til Feb 7 to watch it for free. Naturally it's region locked though urgh. :/

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Running 32 bit game on windows 10 pro 64 bit
« on: November 18, 2019, 09:55:27 PM »
After extensive communications with GOG tech, Two Worlds 1 will flawlessly play on Windows 10 pro 64 bit, but the intro's and cut-scenes will not be shown. Since the videos will show on Vista 32 bit, the same is very likely for Windows 10 32 bit. But hey, that's like having a Volkswagen that goes 300 MPH... What's the point?

I can click on each of the cut-scene and intro and credits outside the game and they work ok. It's just inside the game where they don't show at the appropriate times, which are merely icing on the cake anyway. I found a mention of this 32 bit/64 bit issue and  apparently that was a problem never resolved. I even uninstalled the game and cleaned out the registry of all occurrences of Reality Pump/TwoWorlds. Reinstalled the game with the two updates to 1.7b. All that didn't help.

Everything is peaches n cream on my old 32 bit Vista system.

Two Worlds 1 runs great on W10 64bit. Intro's and cut-scenes will not play. The video files for the game are wmv format. What would happen if the video files were changed to another format?

TW1 will show intro's and cut-scenes on a 32 bit system.

Addendum: Changed the files to AVI. Still no intro's or cut-scenes!

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Big Bang theory and our Universe
« on: August 11, 2019, 08:29:46 AM »
As it turns out, many scientists are saying that our Universe is not the only one, therefore Big Bangs have happened before and are still happening. So Now, Universe is more correctly stated as a Multiverse and more are constantly being formed.

Uh.... does this seem familiar? Isn't this like describing a brain? Neurons firing, thought processes forming, new regions of the brain being formed! Could it be that the Multiverse is one conscience evolving! Going further, what if the Multiverse (one single mind) is not the only one. Many, Many Multiverses (many minds!).

So, have I managed to drive you batty?

Have a good day and life. Hee Hee Hee

A recent episode shows four guys breaking Paul Anderson's Olympic standing press by 2 or 3 pounds. It was a cheap effort because they used the leg thrust and press. In the old Olympic footage, Paul Anderson only relied on the strength of his arms. He got the weights to his chest and merely pressed upward. It's cheap shots, like these 4 guys pulled off, that really gets me upset. I tried contacting the show but no luck.

Here is one for the books!
The other night I tried to update to W10pro 64 bit and it failed because v1909 tried to download updates for devices that already had up to date drivers.

Today, I bought W10 home edition and it installed W10Pro 1809

Could that be because I had already tried it directly from MS?

It appears that drivers, not that big really, are the main issue.
For several months I've had a minor issue with W7 Pro. More often than I care for, if I shut down the computer normally, then when it's turned on again, it boots up ok but desktop shortcuts won't start any programs or games. However, text documents open just fine. After rebooting 2 or 3 times, even doing a hot shutdown, everything is back to normal.

I discovered that once I have a normally functioning system and want it that way the next session, instead of shutting it down, I put it in sleep mode, then turn off the power. The next time the power is turned on, I take the pc out of sleep mode and it's in the normal state as before.

Since windows 7 support (security updates mostly) ends next year, what if someone made a fresh install of W7. could it still be updated to what it is now? Anyhow, I purchased a 1 TB external drive for $53 at WalMart and store a system image on it. About 2 years ago a hard drive failed and I had to reinstall everything. This time I'm prepared. If my present HD ever fails, I'll just get a new HD, plop in a repair disk and then give it the system image. Everything will be as before the HD failure.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Use windows 7 forever?

I'm seriously considering it. Going to windows 10 means searching for new hardware drivers. Most of your programs and games are likely to stop working.

What if the unthinkable happens and you have to reinstall w7? What about the security updates that probably can't be downloaded? Is your current antivirus software all that's necessary?

Make a system backup image weekly, daily, monthly? Or simply don't use windows at all. And the ultimate, do target practice on all your computers!

Turner Classic Movies doesn't even have Saintly Sinners, which I found at another source.

It's a free tag number, not subject to any licensing bureau, that obviously A or Any movie producer can safely use.
Can you imagine the first time CEU 709 was used in a movie? What if the original tag were found, I wonder what it would be worth! How many movies used that particular number? To have all of them would probably be a priceless collection.

P.S.

I've contacted Turner Classic Movies and enquired about the particular movie in question. Sure will be surprised if I get a profitable reply.

Saintly Sinners did in fact have a rear tag CEU709, but not the movie I was talking about with a front tag. However, the movie is an excellent viewing experience. The license tag CEU709 is a prop used in other movies as well. Thanks for this movie lead which is now part of my personal Oldies B&W collection.

Several decades ago, maybe in the 1950's, I watched a gangster movie on T.V.
A dying man gave his friend a few hundred dollars, maybe 300, to get him a car, since he never had one.
As the man lay dying in the street, a car arrives with the front license tag CEU709. I sure would like to
find out the movie title in order to relieve this persistent need to know.
