Another AV scanner we recently started using at work in conjunction with MalwareBytes is:

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition
http://www.superantispyware.com/index.html

Scans for Spyware, Adware, Malware, Trojans, Worms, Parasites and other potentially harmful software that may be installed on your computer.

How to install comodo firewall so it functions well with antivirus  (no conflicts)

Download the Free Comodo Firewall program.
Find the file that was just downloaded and double click on it to run it.
A small window will pop up asking you to select the language – select your desired language.
A larger window will pop up with some options.
Uncheck “Change my DNS servers to COMODO SecureDNS servers”.
Uncheck “I want to enable “Cloud Based Behavior Analysis”.
At the bottom of the window click on “Customize Installer”.
You will now see a window with more options.
On the first window uncheck “Install COMODO GeekBuddy”.
Go back to the main window and click on “Accept and Install”.

Note: By disabling some of these features, we are installing the basic firewall functionality.  This will help insure that there will be no conflicts with other software that you may have running on your computer yet still give you the protection of a firewall.

@Goatmeal
that is good but if you use  process explorer instead of task manger SAS will id  it as a false positive as a "hijacker" and  it is bloated thats why its not included

Toolbar and adware clean up
AdwCleaner is a program that searches for and deletes Adware, Toolbars, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP), and browser Hijackers from your computer.  By using AdwCleaner you can easily remove many of these types of programs for a better user experience on your computer and while browsing the web.

always check the log before removal  for false positives!

Guys if your ever infected in my experience   copy and print out this guide it is a life saver
http://remove-malware.com/antimalware/anti-malware-howto/malware-removal-guide/

@BT thanks, the list was compiled with the best but also the most effective lightweight software in mind  I dont think you will find a better line up anywhere :D
did you find any software or programs you did not know about?
I was going to put a Bittorrent client  up but I dont know because that could come off as  if we support file shareing so I did not include it
 thoughts?

Wow asianmusicguy, this list is great. I've been needing something like this compiled for a while now.

I do use Chrome for a web browser, but I had Firefox forever before I switched. Any reason why you preferred it over Chrome? I love Firefox, just was wondering.

Sure because I find chrome does not  give the user enough control in terms of settings and tends to  store personnel information  such as CC data and such
if you want a chrome like experience with the advanced nature of firefox I would suggest  this theme
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fxchrome/

My next post is about Hitman Pro
"HitmanPro 3  is a second opinion scanner, designed to rescue your computer from malware that have infected your computer despite all the security measures you have taken (such as anti virus software, firewalls). Just relying on a single vendor is not sufficient to completely protect you. You do need a second source to make sure you are secure. HitmanPro 3  is designed to work alongside existing security programs without any conflicts. It scans the computer quickly (less than five minutes) and does not slow down the computer (except for the few minutes it is scanning). HitmanPro 3  does not need to be installed. It can be run straight from a USB flash drive, a CD/DVD, local or network attached hard drive."
Hitman Pro is really great and can be a life saver in most cases and detects things via the cloud network that others cant its a scanner that is on demand similar to Malwarebytes
The trial version is limited to 30 days. for removal function once activated but scans are always free

HMP is really good at fighting Ransomeware
ransomware will attempt to extort money from the system's user by forcing them to purchase either a program to decrypt the files it had encrypted, or an unlock code which will remove the locks it had applied. These payments are often delivered using either a wire transfer, premium-rate text messages, or through an online payment voucher service such as Ukash or Paysafecard.
