Piracy=theft=no money to the hardworking folks that made the game.  With that said sure as a younger Chadly i traded games with friends, as in the 80's and 90's it was easy to do with no copy protection.  I could list numerous sites now that have abandoned ware on them.  Too chancy for me.  I think we all have done it at one time at another. Kind of like masterbation, is it right or wrong?  That question is up to one's personal beliefs.  As an adult I don't steal or pirate games, i just rent them from legitamate places such as GameFly before i purchase.  Demo's are the way to go as you guys proved at least to me! :)     Chadly

I don't think 20 bucks is too much for a game.  Hell KQ3 and SQ remakes were free and I'd would have paid for them!  Seriously i used to pay 50 bucks for a sierra game 20 years ago, and once paid 80 for final fantasy 3 for snes.  It costs money to make games, so supply and demand. It's basic economics 101.  The Net is too full of people who want shit for free or like 5 bucks.  It is my sincere hope the QFI sells well enough to continue funding IQ's and a possible sequel.                Chadly :)

@dosplaybox- What country do you call home?  @klytos- Friend  we have a difference of views obviously.  The Soviets lost 20 million men fighting the Germans vs the US at 400000.  Without supplies from the USA the Allies wouldn't have won.  The Germans invaded Russia and broke the Warsaw pact because Hitler was a Egomaniac bent on Aryan Supremacy, that and he need the oil from the Caucasuses.  The the War was won as an Allied invasion of France, with the Soviets coming in from the East.  If the Soviets hadn't turned the tide at Stalingrad/St. Petersburg then who knows what would have happend.

Also to refer to an earliar comment about the USA speaking French due to their help the American Rev War that help didn't come till 1781 towards the end of the war.  If GB had wanted to they could have crushed us, but had other interests in their Empire around the Globe.  They could have done it again during the War of 1812.  Chadly

P.S. This isnt a free for all on how The USA is the greatest country in the World, but frankly it is!:) ;)
All joking aside their is much to be learned from history and those who don't study it are forced to repeat it.
The USA has many faults but many great things about it as well.....Nuff said.

Yes i did pay attention in history class.  I know it was an Allied effort hence the Allies.  I wasn't trying to be an American Egotist, however with out American supplies GB would have fallen to the Axis, we also gave supples to the Soviets after Germany attacked them.  Hitler made the same mistake Napolean did by invading Russia, because he had to get oil for fuel from the Caucasuses.  After the War, who financed the rebuilding of Europe?
So everyone please dont be pissed at me for those comments. History is history. Chadly

@ Everyone. Look i didnt mean to start a shit-storm here guys and gals. Voting is Important PEriod!  Kaldire has his views and i respect and agree with a few points.  I pay taxes therefore I vote.  You don't pay taxes you go to jail. Its all i can do, and even if my party doesn't win i can say i voted.  We all have to pay taxes in some form or another.  Sure we all get screwed by them, but untill someone gets smart and flat taxes everyone at the same rate, the tax code will be fucked.  We owe Way too much money to China and others.  Look my folks taught me if you dont have enough money to pay cash for something, you save untill you do.  Otherwise credit cards gets you in trouble, at least me anyway. LOL.

A few years back i lived in England and Germany. The cost of living there is twice what it is here.  A decent meal out there is 50 dollars. My rent for a 1 room aptmnt was 1200 bucks a month. Why?  Taxes are enormous there because of all the entitlements like free healthcare, schooling, etc.  Sounds great untill you fork 7 out of 10 dollars of your paycheck to the government!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

@klytos, Vote in your own country of Aussieland.  Voting counts, yes politics suck ass but if you dont vote don't bitch about the government.  @kaldire- I like that Thomas Jefferson quote.  However if they the founding fathers didnt stand up we would be ruled still by the british empire.  If WE as Americans didn't save the world twice in the last Century we would be speaking German, the jews would be erased from the planet, and freedom would have died forever.  Even a social Democracy like GB, France, and most of Europe is still a Democracy.  Freedom is a good thing. I am free to disagree with whomever i please without reprisal and government intervention.  Yes our gov isn't perfect and has many bad apples, but you Don't cut down the tree because of a few rotten apples.  Vote men and women please it is too important not to! :)

Hi.  5 years ago or so I found Infamous Adventures quite by accident while searching for old sierra games.  I down-loaded KQ3 remake and enjoyed it very much.  Then i patiently awaited the Space Quest Remake.  I have been a fan ever since.  Frankly i would have paid  5, 10, 20 dollars for those remakes.  Too many people  think everything should be free or like 5 bucks.  Those people as said above dont know the time and effort and money put into making "free" games.

Here is an example of the above:  When I was a kid I had to do chores around my house.  For the work i was paid 20 bucks a week.  The money I earned I appreciated more than if my folks just gave me money.  So in comparison, all the "It should be free" people want the games with no effort put in by themselves.  Sure i would have liked to have got QFI for free, but I Still Appreciate all the time and effort it took to make the game. So the money i donated and then spent to purchase another copy of it, hopefully will contribute to it's sequel being made. :)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Music

So music what kind do you listen to and such?  I like pretty much everything.  I like Classic rock, Alternative, Metal, Pop, and country.  I am a huge fan of Billy Joel and have him seen in concert in 89, my first ever concert. It was awesome. Too bad he doesnt make any new music anymore tho.  So many great ballads by the Piano Man himself.   :)   He ends his concerts with Paino Man and this adage: Dont take any shit from anyone.

@wherewolves   Ok guys and gals here is my story:  15 years ago i worked retail.  Very stressfull and health shattering.  I work 50-60 hours a week between 2 jobs just to pay my bills.  I was a great salesman of all things electronics and games.  I smoked 2-3 packs a day, drank 2 pots of coffee, ate fast-food twice a day, amd finished my day either at the bar or home drinking a 12 pack.  Up at 6a.m., out the door at 7, worked till 9p.m. or later and went to the bar till 2a.m.  Every day 5/6 days a week.  I weighed 150 pounds and stand 5'9".  Did this for 5 years straight.  Cost me my marriage, my child abd my sanity.  Lost my jobs, drank more did more drugs till the money ran out.  Got thrown out on the streets, folks wouldnt talk to me for years.  Got arrested at age 30 twice for DUI, within 3 weeks.  Thats sobered me for awhile as did 3 months in the county hotel. Not fun detoxing let me tell you.  Got out on parole, went straight to the bar and got trashed.  Mom picks me up, went and passed out.  Woke up next day and per parole board started my treatment.  Stayed on parole with my nose clean and a good bit of my health and sanity returned.  I am now almost 15 years clean of the drugs (cocaine, meth, pills, weed, heroin).  I work for mainly myself and contract out to local buisness for I.T.  Sobriety is never easy but worth it in the end.  If i had continued my habits, I would be Dead or in Prison.  Morale:  Stay away from the shit and if you partake be prepared to give all you have and ultimately your life, because thats what the drugs and booze will take.  Moderation in all things! :)      chadly

@whenwherewolves  I;m not suggestting that you make excuses for your addictions, i'm saying many people do.  I always owned my addictions. They were mine, mine, and mine!  Finding sobriety is always a great thing, and if gaming, music etc keeps you there then do it man! :)    Sorry about your gf tho.  For me it was my child passing away suddenly of SIDS. Drove me over the edge for a long time. Came back tho and now nearly 15 years later im a productive, happy person, who doesnt use drugs to cope.  I still drink a few beers now and again tho. Also probally a little to fond of Chocolate milk shakes and such. But hey one step at a time.

Sorry to hear about your personal struggle with drugs guy.  I have had a few run ins with substances and alcohol myself.  Got arrested a few times too.  If gaming helps you stay clean and sober then continue.  I beleive that one makes a Choice to use drugs or drink too much.  Making an excuses for why your an addict or drunk doesnt help the problem.  Its a choice to do these things, that grows into an addiction.  For instance when i was a teenager i chose to start smoking cigarrettes for whatever reason. Took me twenty years to quit because i really liked smoking.  I still like smoking but know that it will end up killing me.  So hunkered down and quit. Not easy for sure and there are days when i would like nothing better than go buy a pack of Marlboro's.  But then the addiction would start all over again.  Nicotine i swear is the most addictive drug, even more than heroin.  I say Moderation in all things is best.  Good luck with your recovery and if you need to talk to someone who has been clean for 13 years give me a pm.  Chadly :)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / What is your favorite rpg series?
« on: October 18, 2014, 07:14:57 PM »
So what is your favorite rpg series?  Mine is Final fantasy. FF2, ff3, ff7.  FF7 is in my opion the best rpg game ever made bar none, The ones after that just arent as fun at least to me.  After that i'd say the QFG series, and Dragon Warrior series.  For newer series have to say Quest for infamy is the best i have played in about 20 years! :)
