Steve's command is my wish...

Here the complementary End Screen to Quest For Glory 2, with the corrected title for Quest For Glory 3 ("Wages Of War"):

Hope you're doing well, Steve; we're all thinking of you out here on the InterWebs!

On the April 2 Twitter feed for Infamous Quests, Blackthorne mentioned that the end screen of Quest For Glory 2 (referring to "Shadows Of Darkness") didn't hold up so well...

I'm not quite sure what he's talking about; it looks great to me!   ;D

(Someone ought to make a patch for that!)

I thought it would be a little odd to 'like' your post, BT, but always remember that you're in our thoughts during your trying times, and that we're rooting for you.

« on: January 01, 2020, 09:05:46 PM »
How do you start the new year of 2020 off right?  Well, if you're the Infamous Adventures / Infamous Quests team, you release an update of their now-classic Space Quest 2 VGA game remake, of course!

Congratulations to the IA/IQ team; now at version 2.0, it's never looked better!   :D

Hey! Space Quest 2.0 VGA version 2.0 ...

... 2.0 & 2.0 ...

... 20 + 20 ...

... 20 + 20 = 2020 ...

...and it's just in time for the arrival of 2020!  I totally get it!   ;)

"
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10"

Sorry about that...  It appears that different places have different minimum OS requirements:

• Itch.io says "Windows"
• Steam says XP
• GOG says Win7
• Humble says XP
• The QFI Demo on the IQ website (listed above) says Vista

I figured, 'Hey, who ought to know what the minimum specs are better than the IQ website?'   ;)

yesterday windows xp..

More than likely, the problem is that you are trying to run it on an XP machine.

The requirements for QFI are:

OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 ghz or equivalent
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: 2nd Generation Intel Core HD Graphics (2000/3000), 256MB
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Hard Drive: 1GB available space

Quest for Infamy / Re: Is Roehm to Ruin or QFA2 closer to completion?
« on: October 16, 2019, 08:59:41 AM »
Anyone?

Speaking as an IQ superfan (I'm not a developer):

1. QFI: Roehm To Ruin is definitely well into beta testing; all that's needed is voice acting to finish it up, but with limited funds, that makes it pretty difficult for IQ to achieve at the moment.

2. There are ideas between the developers for QFI2, but that's all they are at this point -- no development has actually started (Why?  See #3 below.)

3. Next up is continuing work on the sequel to Order Of The Thorne: The King's Challenge, the Kickstarted stretch goal bonus game Order Of The Thorne: Fortress Of Fire:

You know Ross Scott, right?  The "Freeman's Mind" guy?  Old DOS/Windows games reviewer?  Foe of the trend towards online-only/server-dependant games?

Well, Ross's got a HUGE list of games that he's has been interested in over the years, and QFI is on it !

He's played a few of the games on the list, some are still in production, some have been cancelled, but there's a WHOLE lot of others out there that have been released -- including QFI !

     Here's a video about what & why:

Quest for Infamy / Update / replace intro V.O. in QFI 2.0?
« on: February 18, 2019, 12:30:09 PM »
Now that you are accepting submissions for potential voice actors for QFI: Roehm To Ruin, I had an odd thought:

It's highly likely that you will use two new voice actors for Alyssia and the Baron, as they have more lines/speaking parts in the prequel.  Will you update the introduction for QFI version 2.0 by using the new voices (for continuity's sake), or is that introduction pretty much set in stone, where it's not worth the time/effort to splice/overlay the new RTR voices?

It's not like you don't have enough to do for the time being, and I think I know the answer; just wondering...   ;)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Favourite (Unintentional???) Film Moments
« on: January 06, 2019, 05:58:15 PM »

I [presciently] discussed a favorite (unintentional???) film moment as a tangent almost 6 years ago in a thread about the Oculus Rift:

     http://www.infamous-quests.com/forum/index.php?topic=541.0;all

Man, I miss me some Aladdin's Castle at the local malls...   :'(

When Sam Flynn hit the main breaker switch in "Tron: Legacy" and Flynn's Arcade lit up after all those years with all of those machines coming back to life, and Journey's "Separate Ways" started booming in the background...

...I got chills watching that on the big screen.

Kids today will NEVER know how that feels...

Well, there WAS a reason it wasn't on GoG as we both know... :)

It's not considered "old" enough to be a "Good OLD Game"?...   ;D

My memories also include a Color Computer 3 (TRS-80 equivalent), which I still have. I also still have all the floppies, cassettes, and cartridges for it. Poltergeist is one of them. I remember the game vividly, too. I was always confused about what to do. It never made any sense to me so I never played it. I still don't know what the graphics are supposed to represent to this day.

We had a Color Computer 1 from the early '80s until we finally got our first PC Clone in 1989.  Sadly, we sold it and all of the accessories (printer, disk drive, cassette drive, ROM packs) to someone my dad worked with.

They had some great "knock-off" arcade games for that machine, especially one for Donkey Kong.  The game came on cassette, so to make < ahem > a "back-up" copy, you put it in a dual-cassette deck and recorded the audio data "screeches" to a new cassette.

My uncle had an original Color Computer with 4k of RAM...  I remember he was so happy when he got a new chip to upgrade it to 16k RAM -- he had to de-solder and remove the old chip, then solder in the new one.

Don't you DARE say a darn thing about trying to catch a ball -- which is attached to a string, which is attached to a stick -- in a cup -- which ALSO happens to be attached to said stick...

Them's fightin' words!   >:(
